Bull City Beginnings has one focus: helping parents feel prepared well before their due date. The center was founded by friends and doulas Elise and Jenny. The pair dreamed up the center back in 2020 as the world was in the midst of the pandemic. They quickly bonded over their love of childbirth, and they started to think of how they could use that passion to help other parents. They launched their first class in March 2021 and started doing business under the name Bull City Beginnings. Today, they are here to support you through every step of your pregnancy so you can feel ready for the second those contractions start!
Services
While the group behind Bull City Beginnings offers several services, their childbirth classes are by far the most popular. They give you several options so you can find the option that works best for your busy schedule. Whether you want to commit to a full 7-week course or prefer to just learn it all over a long weekend, they have just the thing! The sessions were created for both you and your support person. They cover it ALL. You are going to start out by learning about the history of childbirth before learning about the stages of pregnancy, local options, pain management techniques, what to expect during your hospital stay, and how to care for your baby. They also offer infant CPR.
All their information is evidence-based, and their classes discuss several different birthing methods so you can have a comprehensive approach to your delivery. Because the sessions are in-person, you will also get the chance to connect with other parents and build up your community.
Specialty
Both Jenny and Elise of Bull City Beginnings continue to offer their services as birth doulas for those who would prefer more customized assistance. You can start out with an interview so you can be sure this is the group for you. If so, you will have 1-2 prenatal meetings, continuous labor support, and a postnatal visit.
